Work in Public Right-of-Way
No individual, firm, corporation, utility, or agency (the Applicant) shall conduct any work in the public right-of-way without obtaining a Work in Public Right-of-Way Permit (the Permit) from the Director of Public Works. To obtain the Permit, the Applicant shall complete the following:
- Work in Public Right-of-Way Permit Application

Civil Plan(s)

Proof of Insurance (Requirements defined in Chapter 42, Code of Ordinances)

Work in Public Right-of-Way Permit Fee – $250.00 + Applicable Surcharge Fee

Work in Public Right-of-Way Permit Surety – $1,000.00 to $50,000.00 (Amount set by Director of Public Works)
The Permit is valid for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of approval. No work in the public right-of-way shall be permitted between November 15th and April 1st.
The Permit surety shall be refunded to the Applicant following restoration inspection and approval by the Director of Public Works.

The Director of Public Works has the authority to post a Stop Work Order on all work in the public right-of-way that is conducted contrary to the requirements of Chapter 42, Code of Ordinances, or without a Permit.
